SWLS GET THE LOOK....the chic and sassy seventies

This winter, Sleuth is having a serious 70's moment. Inspired by the gorgeous Love, Chloe fragrance campaign that sees Raquel Zimmermann trasping the streets of Paris, looking uber chic in her high waisted silk pants and shirt (and of course draped in THAT coat), the sexy aura of the seventies is back in a big way.
Beautiful beige hues mixed back with gold tones lend this look a sophisticated edge, that will leave you too wanting to hit the streets in a champagne Mercedes for your own dose of Parisian L'Amour.

Classic-look labels to the likes of Witchery, Country Road and ASOS brands have really relished in this throw-back to the streamlined vision of the seventies, and of course Chloe's entire collection still retains the creamy balminess that this look is savoured for.
And better still, some of our favourite retailers have jumped on board and designed some gorgeous pieces for you to add to your sleek and sophisticated winter wardrobe....so grab your hairspray, gold hoops, and of course....

Marching to fashion's Military beat...

Gisele did it. So did Goldie. Even Tom got in on the ‘action’.
The military look has been in our fashion conscious for decades, having a revival every few seasons and reminding us to keep our patriotism strong, and khaki in our colour palettes.
While going 'full force' and adopting an entire combat style (complete with jacket, boots, cargos etc) may result in you being viewed as a somewhat die-hard trendista, infusing some military beat into your wardrobe will keep your look locked-and-loaded for the coming season.
Whether it be full-scale button down jackets, sassy cargos or Maverick's aviators, military has never been so diverse and fashionable.
Sleuth encourages you obey your orders and scale through the below must-haves and arm yourself with some hot fashion-artillery pieces.

Brighten your day & POP colour back into your wardrobe!

Winter may be just a few squares away on our calendars, however this should be no reason for us Shopistas to fall in a fashion slump, or worse still, contract Wardrobe Fashion Flu (see previous post regarding symptoms). To keep winter and WFF at bay, an instant precaution is injecting bright POP colour into your look.
Sleuth wonders why there is always this assumption that as soon as the temperature drops, so must our use of colour and vibrancy in our wardrobe. Come winter, black and grey seems to inundate our everyday life, and suddenly your mood is feeling as misty as your wardrobe. So chant after me.....Bring back the brights! Bring back the brights!
Grammy winner Esperanza Spalding showing off her bright side in US Instyle (May 2011)

Whether bold singular pops of colour or fun bright prints, a splash of hue will have you feeling top of the pops in no time at all, and hey, you may even inspire those around you to get in on the rainbow action.
