Kardashian controversy as Vogue releases its April cover

Kim Kardashian has achieved her #1 goal, and has landed the cover of US Vogue alongside her fiancé, Kanye West.
The issue hasn't even hit stands yet, and is already causing a stir of controversy amongst fashionistas world-wide. Some are calling it an elaborate April Fool's joke, as they can't believe Anna Wintour has put the reality tv star on the cover of what is still considered the highest authority in the fashion world.
Twitter has exploded with rants about the cover, with KK supporters also battling it out in defence of their Keeping Up With The Kardashians mogul.
Love them or hate them, it looks like Kimye's petitioning for the cover has paid off....now it remains to be seen whether the issue will actually sell.
The issue can be downloaded from the Vogue App from March 24 and will hit US news stands from the 31st of March.

God Save The Queen (and her jewels!)

Happy Diamond Jubilee Your Majesty!

Fashion trends come and go, year after year, decade after decade. Celebrities come and go as well, one minute they are hottie hot hot, having their name screamed from the fan bleachers at the Oscars and hunted like foxes by the paparazzi, then the next thing they are yesterday's news and popping up on infomercials.
However there has been one constant for Sleuth's generation, and for many more before and (hopefully) many after, that is beyond celebrity or trend....Queen Elizabeth the Second.
She has been a constant in life really. From her stately wave, to the way she has elegantly dressed, to the way in which she is able to speak to many doting followers at once without seeming glazed by the fact that she probably meets and greets more people in a week than any of us mere mortals would in a lifetime!
Another constant from our reigning monarch has been her way to display such incredible jewels without being overburdened by them. She wears the bling, the bling doesn't wear her!

To celebrate 60 years of amazing royal eye candy (of the jewelled kind that is), Sleuth has compiled a collection of sparklers that are more in Shopistas price range (although the Krupp diamond is still on the 'wish list'!)

All that Gitters at The Logies

It's the night of nights for Australian television, and while the program itself is the most boring of the year unless you're seated in the auditorium of the Crown Casino in Melbourne, luckily the stars didn't disappoint this year with their palette of gorgeous gowns.
Unlike previous years when many have left a lot to be desired, this year was amped up with gorgeous frocks from mainly local designers appeasing Shopistas and Sleuth alike.
Sleuth's best dressed for the evening went to Asher Keddie, looking sensational in a J'Aton creation that would have looked just as comfortable on the red carpet at the Oscars as it did at the Logies.

Non-calorie Easter Indulgence Of The Designer Kind....

Happy Easter Shopistas!
For those of you who are looking for other ways to treat yourself instead of the obligatory choc-attack this Easter (unless you love doing both like Sleuth!) what better way to indulge a Shopista's senses than with a mouth-watering selection of fabulous designer bags?
Often requiring a substantial investment from Shopista, the sheer delight of owning something as beautiful, versatile and statement-making as a designer bag somehow seems to help edge away the brutality of the price tag.
Always remember though, if you are exceeding your normal budget, ensure that your purchase is indeed going to transcend seasons. While there are many fabulous 'IT' bags splashed across the glossy pages of Vogue each season, their shelf life is often less than that of a chocolate egg, so make sure you are investing in a piece that will work a multitude of ways and won't leave you feeling 'stale' after a month.

Sleuth will now be using the fabulous Pinterest for some posts, so make sure you click the link below, and sign up to Pinterest if you haven't already - and indulge yourself this Easter with some serious designer eye candy!

Having an attack of the flats...

As we move out of the sun and back into trans-seasonal territory, Sleuth will be stocking up and having a flat attack of Imelda Marcos proportions this season.
When the weather is looking gloomy, nothing is better than slipping on a pair of your favourite anti-4-inch flats, and easily maneuvering through the bustle of life, without having to worry about toppling to one's knees.
Don't get Sleuth wrong, it's every woman's right to bare heels, however high and ankle-threatening they may be. Nothing makes a Shopista feel sexier and ready to take on the town than slipping on a pair of stilettos, instantly lengthening the calves and heightening the self confidence.
The big 'but' here is that while heels are fabulous, so are flats - with the extra bonus of being comfortable as well. Designers have watched women over the years secretly stash a pair of flats under their desks, to be slipped on when no-one is looking.
Even a scene in The Devil Wears Prada shows that even the most fabulous of the fashionistas working at Vogue are prone to kick off the old stilts and opt for a comfier pair of flats.
Thankfully even the designer big-wigs are now embracing the revolution of the flats, providing us with a gorgeous array of fashionable flat options to go back with both summer and winter ensembles.
Below is a selection of flats Sleuth will be lusting after this season to help encourage Shopistas to have their own attack of the flats!
